Adedayo Victor Adeoye 🇳🇬

Comic Artist

Adedayo is a comic book artist and creator dedicated towards making comics that focuses on Africa and her rich cultural backgrounds and heritage. Through platforms such as Comics Archive Africa (Largest collection of independent and black comic books) and Comic Con Ibadan (First and official geek and pop culture event in West Africa's largest city), I also promote African comics, animations and other creative contents as well as creatives that come out of Africa and the black creative community. I published my comic book Jogunomi where I also created and explored Afroblot; a pattern of African comic book creation that uses the colours black, white, grey and red colours only in creating comic book pages. A variation of this style was used for my Shattahs contribution

Adesida Onome 🇳🇬

Adesida started professionally as a comic book colorist around 2014, and has since then worked on titles such as Olaju, Strike guard, Diiche, O kingdom come, Ekun, Lil thunder and many others- before finally setting out on the self-publishing trail that birthed his personal project Cursed Clouds.

Is a Brazilian artist. I have always drawn. My biggest influences in the arts are: Jack Kirby, José Luis Garcia Lopez, Burne Hogarth and Loomis, among others. Working for Shattahs Comics was one of the most incredible things I have ever done. I was able to draw several cool characters in various situations, from conversations to incredible, breathtaking battles! I can only thank Shattahs and the rest of the team for letting me be a part of this movement.

Clovis Batebola 🇧🇷

A comic artist from a place known as Estradinha, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I started drawing at the same time I became literate (1987 - my teacher read the comics with me to help me) and never stopped. I studied journalism and law in college, but the opportunity to work in comics only happened in 2019. My art style is traditional old school (or I try to), but with a dark touch, full of gray tones and flashing lights. I always mix new digital tools. I've had countless artistic experiences that have helped me expand my skills and with each job I've been experimenting with new possibilities (always with the client's consent, of course).

Edgar Tavitas (Tavaz) 🇲🇽

Known in the art scene as Tavaz, is a Mexican colorist emerging as one of the most promising visual voices in the independent comic industry. His style—defined by cinematic lighting, bold contrasts, and emotionally driven storytelling—transforms every page into an immersive experience. In addition, he was a finalist in the prestigious *Pixelatl SecuenciArte* competition with his comic Lobo Blanco, showcasing his abilities not only as a colorist but also as a complete storyteller. Alongside his professional work, Tavaz develops original universes such as Rocket Girls Mexiverse and Rockabilly Monsters. Napu Ahia 🇺🇸

Born in Honolulu, Napua spent much of her childhood in the hospital, captivated by Archie comics for their art before she could even read. Her love for comics ignited when she discovered Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the library, sparking an obsession with Marvel and a full-blown comic book geekdom—culminating in a superhero-themed wedding! With 15 years of experience in graphic design and web development, Napua took up digital painting as a fun hobby, only to turn it into a career thanks to the encouragement of Sam Campos. She now colors Pineapple Man: Old School Lock Up, collaborates with the Hawaiian Comic Book Alliance, and provides flat colors for an award-winning comic series, while also working with a mainland publisher. In her downtime, she enjoys MMO gaming, urban fantasy novels, and family time—whether comic shopping with her husband, collecting Pop vinyls with her sister, or watching zombie movies with her mom.

Oluwadamilola Michael Akinayo is hardcore comic fan, fan artist, graphic designer and letterer. He was inspired by Wes Abbot formerly of ComicCraft who did the lettering of the classic X-Men #1 drawn by Jim Lee, which he read as a kid. He also learned lettering from John Roshell of ComicCraft and Nate Piekos of Blambot.

Rocha Sanderson 🇧🇷

Sanderson. Brazilian, born in Cabo Frio, Rio de Janeiro. The entire process is done on paper, in the traditional way, with pens and inks. A draftsman since adolescence, he has held exhibitions, worked in RAP, HIP HOP and TRAP studios, where he created several album covers. Always encouraged by his teacher FÁBIO EMECÊ, he began a more in-depth study of comic book production. The teacher recommended the work of cartoonist Clóvis Batebola, and that's how Sanderson met Tell Our Own Tales, where he currently illustrates the pages of the comic book Shattahs.

A visual artist whose specialism is digital illustration. Originally from Maseru, Lesotho, he is mostly self taught and now produces comic books on a full time basis for his own projects and also for clients. In Lesotho there is very little appreciation for art. At Least in terms of recreation. I am not knowledgeable enough about what is happening in Southern Africa to provide an informed opinion.In Africa I actually was quite into Supa Strikaz, a South African comic book which now has a TV show. Worldwide, I have always loved X-Men and Batman because while the art was cool, I loved the human story they were telling.
